Jane Eyre is about a Governess in the 18th century who has had a traumatic childhood and has had such a miserable life. After graduating from a school in which she spent 8 traumatic years, she moves to Thornfield Hall where all is not what it seems. After hearing strange disturbances throughout the night she discovers a secret which is truly horrific. She falls in love with her employer but has to break it off because of...certain details.
I find this book truly moving and filled with such heartache and misery that I found it quite difficult to relate to Jane Eyre even though it wasn't quite impossible. Jane Eyre shows that as long as you have hope and faith you can make your life better than what it was planned to be.
I would give this book a 4/5 as it was descriptive and amazing but couldn't relate to the present life.
My favourtite character was Jane because she perservered through so much hardship when any normal person would have given up. She may not be attractive but she is smart enough to get her through life. My least favourite character was Mr Rochester because he wasn't even that good of a character, he may have been dealt with wrong in the past but that is no reason why he should use that as an excuse for his choices
