The Woman In Black

This book was so scary! Like the movie it contains descriptions which can...unnerve the reader and leave them bewildered and never wanting to go to Scotland in case of an encounter with the Woman In Black.

I absolutely loved this book. It made all the plot form together and although it was confusing, since I was comparing it with the movie, it really linked together at the end and proved to be one of the saddest books I've ever read.

The Woman In Black was such a lunatic, she had absolutely no reason to be haunting the place beside the fact that she was mad. No one had done her any wrong and since she lost her child she thought it best that everyone else does as well! Really not fair.

My favourite character was Arthur Kipps (main character) because he tries to be brave and face up to the supernatural but you just can't face the unknown. Then he had to live with the knowledge of seeing the Woman in Black all of his life, I was suprised he didn't go mad!

My least favourite character was Samuel Daily. If he had told Arthur everything at the beginning then Arthur would have just got the train back to London and that would have been it

Rating: 4/5
Since it was really good plot twist but didn't really grip my attention.

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre is about a Governess in the 18th century who has had a traumatic childhood and has had such a miserable life. After graduating from a school in which she spent 8 traumatic years, she moves to Thornfield Hall where all is not what it seems. After hearing strange disturbances throughout the night she discovers a secret which is truly horrific. She falls in love with her employer but has to break it off because of...certain details.

I find this book truly moving and filled with such heartache and misery that I found it quite difficult to relate to Jane Eyre even though it wasn't quite impossible. Jane Eyre shows that as long as you have hope and faith you can make your life better than what it was planned to be.

I would give this book a 4/5 as it was descriptive and amazing but couldn't relate to the present life.

My favourtite character was Jane because she perservered through so much hardship when any normal person would have given up. She may not be attractive but she is smart enough to get her through life. My least favourite character was Mr Rochester because he wasn't even that good of a character, he may have been dealt with wrong in the past but that is no reason why he should use that as an excuse for his choices

Soul Beach by Kate Harrison

This book is very gripping. I could not put this book down at all it was so amazing!

Alice Forster's sister has just been murdered and she is going through a time of grief and solitude. Yeah sure she and her sister never got along all the time but still she was family and Alice loved Meggie.

Alice got an email from a place called Soul Beach on the day of the funeral and it sends her spiralling into a virtual world which may or may not be reality. She falls in love with a dead boy but gets to see her sister again everyday. Life couldnt be better...or so you think.

With Meggie's murderer still on the streets could or will Alice be next?
